DV+ Performance Diverter Valve Range

GFB’s DV+ is the best performance solution in market for cars with factory-fitted electronic diverter valves. Using a patented pilot actuation system, the DV+ integrates with your car’s existing diverter solenoid, whilst replacing the weak plastic valve mechanism.

This design methodology improves EVERY aspect of the factory diverter valve, operating faster and more reliably, whilst improving throttle response, boost holding, and longevity. Making the DV+ is pound for pound, dollar for dollar, the best performance diverter solution in market.

All these benefits won’t break the bank either. By utilizing the factory solenoid, the DV+ offers a lot of performance for a small outlay.

Professional performance and unrivalled quality at an affordable price point. That is performance without compromise.

Uncompromised throttle response for turbocharged engines.

Modern electronic diverter valves might be faster than pneumatic types, but they are binary in operation – open or shut. What they gain in operational speed they lose in throttle response. The DV+ adapts the method of operation of the factory diverter system to give you the best of both worlds.

Pilot Operation – the patented design of the DV+ means the piston is no longer directly connected to the solenoid, so it can operate progressively instead of just open or shut. This means a DV+ vents only as much air as necessary to maintain performance to a noticeable improvement in throttle response during spirited driving where the throttle is constantly being modulated.  The pressure spikes that cause compressor surge are eliminated, but a small amount of boost is maintained in the intercooler to help return the engine to peak boost faster and more effectively when the throttle re-opens. We call this the Turbo Management System (TMS) benefit, read more about it here.

Lightning-fast operation – vehicle manufacturers use the electronic diverter because it’s faster than pneumatic. Well, the DV+ is faster again! No other valve on the market comes close to matching the DV+ opening and closing speeds.

Don’t waste a bit of your boost, DV+ Benefit

Your turbo works hard to create boost, so why make it work harder than it needs to? A GFB DV+ ensures that all your hard-earned boost makes it to the engine and onto the tarmac.

It’s no surprise that the factory electronic diverter valve doesn’t seal well when the valve components are made from moulded plastic. A boost leak from the factory diverter valve will cause the ECU to drive the turbo harder to make up for the loss, resulting in higher turbo RPM and exhaust backpressure, and hotter compressor outlet temperatures. So even though your tune might still hit target boost, a diverter leak means the engine and turbo are more stressed and the car is less powerful.

The DV+ replaces the factory diverter’s loose-fitting plastic valve with precision CNC machined metal components, along with a bonded silicone face seal. Because the DV+ design uses boost pressure to force the piston shut, it doesn’t matter how much boost you throw at it – a DV+ won’t fail, leak or blow open.

The DV+ Range

Low sound. BIG PERFORMANCE: The DV+ is a performance, not noise-oriented diverter valve. Recirculating vented air back into the turbo to optimise performance and keep your vehicle road legal. If it’s a blow-off sound you’re looking for, we can deliver that – just check out the VTA or DVX range to get your fix.

Dependable. Reliable: The combination of precision manufacturing, attention to detail, and robust materials mean the DV+ will last a lifetime. This is why we provide all DV+ products with a lifetime warranty.

High flow, tune on! Whether your engine is stock or tuned to within an inch of its life, the DV+ has the flow capacity to support and level power you push through the turbo.

Bolt-On Performance: The DV+ is available in a huge range of direct bolt-on kits to suit most cars that feature a factory-fitted electronic diverter valve. Same features, same benefits, just different fitment options.

DV+ vs Everything Else: There are a number of aftermarket products, some of which look similar to a DV+, that can lead to confusion about what the DV+ is and how it compares.

DV+ vs “BOV Spacers”

A BOV spacer is not a valve. As its name implies, it is a single-piece spacer that lifts the factory diverter valve up and out of the turbo chamber so it can vent the air to the atmosphere instead of back to the turbo intake – it converts a diverter valve into a blow off valve.

Whilst a BOV spacer does create a blow off sound, that is all it offers. It does not address any of the performance or reliability shortcomings of the factory diverter valve.

The DV+ is essentially the opposite of a BOV spacer – it offers performance and reliability improvements over the factory diverter valve, but it does not make a blow off sound. GFB’s VTA range however is an atmosphere-venting version of the DV+, meaning you get performance improvements AND a blow off sound.

DV+ vs Cheaper Counterfeits

Whilst our patent should be enough to keep other manufacturers honest, this isn’t always the case – the DV+ looks simple, which leads some manufacturers into thinking they can copy it and sell it for less.

The DV+ is the only real deal diverter valve on the market. However,  to it’s simple look, the DV+ is prone to competitors counterfeiting the design.

The reality is that simply copying the style of the DV+ isn’t enough. Making a DV+ reliable enough to earn a lifetime warranty is much more complex than making it look the same. We use a proprietary silicone bonding method to ensure the piston face seal does not delaminate and get sucked into the turbo. The fit and surface finish of the piston and bore is of critical importance – just because someone has a CNC machine doesn’t mean they can hold the tolerance we can. The plunger needs the correct tolerance and material to fit and function properly inside the solenoid so the DV+ can operate correctly.

DV+ vs other brands of diverter valve that include a different type of solenoid

The DV+ does not include solenoid to optimise speed, whilst also reducing the cost. Solenoid valves have their place, and will soon be added to the GFB range. But if it’s performance you’re after, the DV+ is the best around.
